Lifejacket lights can be generally divided in two different types, those who comply with the SOLAS regulations and the personal lights.
Each SOLAS lifejacket needs to be equipped with a SOLAS approved light. These lights activates automatically when immersed in water and will remain lit once water activated to allow for rescue scenarios. They have a lifetime of 5 years and do not need service.
Personal lights are mostly used in combination with a workvest. Workvests are not standard equipped with light. The lights are available in water-activated and manual activated and uses batteries.
